Google Information Awareness

As bizarre and implausible as this sounds, I’ve been having trouble with my Google Apps, which has paralyzed me for the moment: the perils of the always-on economy when things aren’t always-on.

Adam Greenfield’s Everyware includes a telling and clever note: his book assumes the survival of an energy-intensive economy, but that should imply nothing about the likelihood or the desirability of said survival. In light of my utter dependence on the tools and services provided by one (mostly) benevolent company, this is food for thought.
