I may not be interested in the news cycle, but I learned last week that the news cycle is interested in me.
Unbeknownst to me, there lurked in the top of a closet an honest-to-God, CPSC-certified lead-tainted Chinese toy! It was given by a beloved and well-meaning friend of the family, but was ghastly enough to have been promptly isolated:
By the time I happened to see him appear in a toy mug shot, our dogs had already taken out the toxic intruder:
Uh… aren’t you worried about your dog eating a lead-tainted toy?

Not much to do about it now. I took the picture not because my dog was chomping on current events (I didn’t know about it at the time), but because I was so glad to see that damn thing go.
I hear vitamin C helps, though.
