A Fool for the Dodos
I know I’m well behind the curve on this one, but I still think it’s necessary to give the new Dodos record,Visiter, my highest recommendation. They’re easily my favorite new (to me) act of the year so far, and listening to them, I get the sense that they’re what Bright Eyes might’ve evolved into had Oberst not drifted into the weird and warbly musical marshes of Dylanesque emo-country.
Also, you want to download the new Wolf Parade single. I promise.
Does this mean you didn’t like “I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning?” Cassadaga, I’ll admit, was a bit much, but I thought “I’m Wide Awake” was a pretty successful foray into “emo-country.”

I like that last band you recommended (they were up on a roof) but this is just more of the twee folk songs that you guys here at the amscene seem to be so fond of. You kids today….
