Non-snarky question: did you support the Bush tax cuts?
— Freddie · Feb 14, 02:20 AM · #
Freddie, I wasn’t very attuned to national politics back then — I wanted John McCain to win the primary in 2000, and when he didn’t I cast a weak vote for Bush, but I was mostly focused on campus issues until 2001, when I went abroad to Spain, and when I returned for my last semester of college in spring of 2002 I did nothing except run the campus newspaper and play caps.
In fall 2002, I took a job as a local beat reporter, and focused almost entirely on local issues. So basically I neither supported it nor opposed it. Just wasn’t on my radar. For all I know I read about it back then, and had some opinion as I argued with colleagues or something, but I wouldn’t bet any money on what my particular take was, except for being uninformed and not very passionate.

I have to say, I never would have read it had you not linked to it, because the Examiner gives off the very strong impression of being a hypocritical-moral-outrage-driven scandal sheet. So this seems to fit their tone perfectly!
But then I find this kind of “reporting” supremely obnoxious on the left (in the Village Voice chain papers, etc.) too.

Wow, this is the first ‘conservative’ blog I’ve ever read that didn’t sound like it was written by characters out of Idiocracy. I guess that makes it doubly dangerous. I’m not sure whether to tell you to keep up the good work or to keep your silver-tongued half-truths to yourselves. Hmmm.
