The Adventures of Ledo and Ix
As it turns out, James, my aforementioned friend, has a younger sister, Emily, who is a tremendously talented artist and filmmaker. This is pretty crazy for me, as I remember when she was a prolific doodler in the 8th grade. I just had the great pleasure of watching her new short film, The Adventures of Ledo and Ix. Though under five minutes in length, Ledo and Ix is incredibly sweet and affecting. My sense is that the movie is a fragment of an awkward semi-romance between a tough cookie and a sensitive soul, and what’s left unspoken between them has heavy significance. This movie is kind of a revelation, and it’ll be playing at SXSW this year.
That’s brilliant!! Give us more of this. We can’t survive on public-policy-politics alone.
A little correction. If her site is to be believed then a movie called That’s My Majesty is playing at SXSW not this one. It looks like this was at Slamdance. Pretty great year.
If you roam around the site you’ll find that she also dishes out advice on parenting and genital mutilation on her blog, which is super weird and kind of awesome too.

Either you are being snarky or art in the post-modern world has gone to hell-in-a-handbasket.
