I posted on Johnson’s essay at http://www.thedeal.com/dealscape/2009/04/on_reading_thinking_and_the_e-.php in the WSJ as well. It’s a little wordy and overheated, but I too was cranky, not just because I mourn the passing of traditional books but because of the blithe optimism of Johnson’s piece. Bob Teitelman
