more sin, just for you
The paperback edition of my Original Sin: a Cultural History hits the bookstores tomorrow, so don’t be left out! It’s more fun than a sect of flagellants!
Also, it’s the only book out there, I bet, with commendatory blurbs from both the late Father Richard John Neuhaus and Alan Wolfe. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Or not, but just buy the book. Please.
Congratulations Alan!

The first time I heard the title of the book it seemed a lot more academic than it does coming on the heels of all this discussion of torture.

I’m looking forward to reading it. By the way, philosopher John Gray (author of Straw Dogs, Black Mass and one of the few non-anthropocentric atheists out there) thinks that much of what is destructive about secular modernity comes from Christianity, but that the one Biblical myth that leads to realism (and perhaps wisdom) is the story of the Fall.

I’m looking forward to it, too, now if I can only finish the hard cover edition.
