Talking Over Torture, Cont'd
Apropos my earlier post on torture, Jonah Goldberg might be interested to know that in his Daily Show interview, John Yoo asserts that distinguishing between “enhanced interrogation tactics” that constitute torture and those that don’t was the central interrogation-related question confronting the Bush Administration after 9/11. This further undermines Mr. Goldberg’s argument that whether or not waterboarding constitutes torture is a peripheral, mostly semantic argument.
“Jonah Goldberg might be interested to know”
I think he’s made it fairly clear he’s not actually interested in knowing anything that conflicts with what he wants to believe.

What’s shocking is that 62 years after the Ministry of Truth declared “War is Peace” these idiots think they can fool anyone by calling it “enhanced interrogation”. Do they not realize the almost comical obviousness of their failed duplicity? I.e. did John Yoo, David Addington, etc. never read 1984 in high school? They might as well embrace the satire fully and rename DOD the “Ministry of Love”!
