Millman's Shakesblog
Regular readers are aware that, every summer, I hijack this blog with lengthy reviews of Canadian productions of the plays of William Shakespeare. Some of you enjoy these; many of you are frustrated by the hijacking. I myself have long felt that they didn’t really belong here, not being part of the American cultural or political “Scene.”
Well, I’ve finally gotten around to creating a new home for these, and for other writing I may choose to do on theatre, Shakespeare, or anything I find plausibly related to those topics.
The new blog is called Millman’s Shakesblog, and can be found here.
Do drop in.
Sounds like a great idea. I’ll look forward to reading. Please remind us here when it gets closer to the time when you’ll be Shakesblogging.

You need to make sure people realized that it’s not just Shakespeare, it’s Canadian Shakespeare.
ps. I will miss the reviews. I could never really get through them, but I always liked that they were there.
pps. My daughter sometimes does plays with this group called the Young Shakespeare Players. They do uncut versions of S. plays with kids from about 8 to 20. The plays usually take about 4 hours counting intermission. My daughter, who is currently a skinny little 11 year old and a pretty bad actor (like most of the kids) was recently Julius Caesar in Julius Caesar, and Emilia and the Duke in Othello.

Joules: it’s there. Already.
And it’s not just Canadian Shakespeare – it’s not even just Shakespeare. I’m going to range as far and wide as I like.
And I’ll link to the reviews here as they come out, so you know when to look over. But, of course, I’d love for you to bookmark/follow/add-to-your-RSS/whatever the new website as well.
cw: Othello? Othello?!? I’m often mystified by the plays they choose to do with kids. But any kid who has the opportunity to work on the plays directly – and uncut! – has been given a great gift.

Uncut, yes. Which means we get to hear all those great songs.
