No Country

Reihan is right: All movies should try to be 3% — or better yet, 50 or 60% — as good as No Country for Old Men. Up till now, it’s only been playing in a handful of theaters (and doing quite well, considering), but it opens wide today just in time for the holiday weekend, so if you haven’t caught it yet, go now (you’ll certainly be better off than following the crowd and seeing the bland, bad Beowulf). If you need any further encouragement, here’s my review, in which I let loose with the “M” word. Looking through the rest of the year’s release calendar, only P.T. Anderson’s There Will Be Blood seems to have any chance to outshine the Coens. Well, that or maybe Hitman.

Kidding. Mostly.
