Unicron as Feminist Parable?
I say no. Vulture says … maybe?
Orson Welles gave his final film performance in the original animated Transformers movie as the voice of Unicron, an evil robot who transforms into a toothed, planet-eating cooter. Appropriately enough, Unicron is destroyed by an Autobot named Hot Rod. (We are totally not making this up.)

Unicron’s destruction was ultimately set into motion by an Autobot named Rodimus Prime, the eventual successor to the late Optimus Prime, who had been killed at the beginning of the movie. To become Rodimus Prime, Hot Rod opened the “Matrix of Leadership” passed down by the murdered Optimus to light the Autobots’ “darkest hour” and metamorphosed (not transformed) into their new leader.
