the greatest toy ever made
Today, Slashdot tells me, is the fiftieth anniversary of Lego — or, more precisely, of the patenting of the Lego brick. Gizmodo has a nice timeline. And if you haven’t read Anthony Lane’s essay about Lego — one of the best things he has ever written — read it now.
I read it and found it OK. It was interesting to read the author state as a well-known fact that the Danish committment to free speech (in 1998) was so intense and unquestionable.
