Hella Coachella
As Reihan passes out, as eventually he must, turn to NME for all your sundazzled rawk coverage. Admittedly, this is just an excuse to link to the Worst Album Covers of All Time.
As for Coachella itself, I could say a lot but will say a little. Reihan’s summery sense of paradise is tremendous and endearing, and I miss In-N-Out, along with Del Taco, and also Jack in the Box’s 99-cent tacos and Ultimate Cheeseburger Combo. One thing I do not miss is moving through a milieu in which everyone’s commitments are negotiable and nihilism is an open secret. On the other hand, in LA and its environs, fun is fun.

This is not the case outside of San Dimas High School.

Bravo, man, seriously. Any reference to San Dimas is genius in my book.

This segues into a reminder that you’re going to compare and contrast Southern California and the D.C. area someday for Blogging on Demand at Pomocon—if you aren’t blogged out by then.
Our paradise image shook a little over the weekend as we took in the death by shark of a man who, as a veterinarian, must have exerted himself to avoid being bitten by relatively tame domestic animals during his lifetime. I’m truly sorry for how his death occurred, and for his family, but what an unexpected way to go.

Huh- as a Seventies art-rock fan, I was SURE they were going to be trashing Roger Dean’s Yes album covers and Hipgnosis’ ELP and Pink Floyd covers.
I’m pleasantly surprised!
Scary thought- the guitarist from that Orleans album cover in in COngress today!

Whoa, astorian, I’d forgotten about that. At least nobody else…
and yes, Joules, there’s life in me yet.
