Cleverness Alert
From the NYT profile of superstar female-mag editor Bonnie Fuller:
Ms. Fuller wrote about this antipathy in a book last year, saying it has been something of a running motif. She said that in high school, she was “totally unprepared for the mean girls I encountered.” She wears her insecurities on her sleeve, and for someone who has made a blood sport of lancing celebrities, she is surprisingly vulnerable, even a bit raw. (If they ever make a movie about her career, it might be called “The Devil Wears Nada.”)
Was I the only only one who got the impression that the entire profile was more or less an excuse to get in that one aside?
She said that in high school, she was “totally unprepared for the mean girls I encountered.”
I find women who say this actually were the mean girls.
