Chicks Who Love Guns
You’ve no doubt heard about Palin as BSG’s President Roslin, but this Daily Mail image makes me think of Lt. Ripley learning to shoot in Aliens. Aside from her overt conservatism, Palin comes across as a nearly textbook-perfect Cameronian superwoman. Don’t mess with that gun-totin’ mama!
I’m also reminded of this classic bit from Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown. (No doubt the first thing Tarantino asked when hearing about her nomination was, “But what about her feet?"):
No defense experience? What’re you talking about? She kills bears fercryinoutloud!
UPDATE: Switched the image to show a comparison.
The bottom line is McCain is 72 year old and has health problems and could die today or tomorrow! When this sinks in and people start to reflect and consider what a President Palin REALLY means due to her very real lack of national and international issues, policies and procedures, and her intellectual capacity or incapacity, people in all good conscience, for the safety and welfare of this country, will not vote for McCain. He has made a colossal mistake in judgment.

“In some ways, the election would be even more fascinating if it was McCain/Biden against Obama/Palin, but I’d still take any combination of those four over another four years of Bush/Cheney.” Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times
Cheney with a gun is more troubling than Palin with a gun.
McCain and Palin have children in the military. Bush and Cheney’s children didn’t enlist. If someone is going to be putting the children of others in harm’s way, they should be willing to do the same with their own.

For goodness sake, Peter’s post was an attempted lighthearted deflation of the self-seriousness around here related to the Palin appointment (of which I was a part of course). It wasn’t an opportunity to escalate the partisan donnybrook.
I guess I can be glad that it isn’t a double-digit comment explosion, like the last crop of posts.
