our hero
Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is the Satrean existential hero of political corruption. He obviously wanted to get caught in order to make a philosophical point — I mean, no one is stupid enough to act the way he acted and expect to get away with it, right? It had to be an acte gratuit. As Camus said about his hero Meursault, he is the only Christ we deserve. Amen.
You have to wonder how does someone deceive himself to that degree.
Completely off topic: there’s a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific time) this evening at Korean United Methodist Church in San Diego for Dong Yun Yoon and his extended family who lost their loved ones on Monday when the F/A-18 crashed into their home and killed his wife, mother-in-law, and two daughters. This happened about a mile north of my parents’ home, near the high school we all attended. There are two other homes destroyed and/or severely damaged. We can be with them in spirit.

Yeah. all you can do is mock the guy at TAS. But what solutions do you offer America in a time of financial crisis? Nothing. My man Rod, on the other hand, is right there, on the edge, with his prescription for Detroit: seize every opportunity to raise a bajillion dollars with rampant corruption. It’s new, it’s hip, it’s the message America needs now.
Rowdy Roddy B 2016, man.
