You learn something new every day. For example, there is apparently a subculture devoted to creating YouTube videos in which various muppets appear to be playing death metal. This strikes me as obvious, now that I think of it. I mean, what else would you use the Internet for?

A solid concept, but not particularly well-executed in the examples shown here. The Cookie Monster one was the only fairly decent sync-job.
The Anime Music Video (or AMV) is a much more well-developed genre.

Anime Music Video also has much simpler requirements, since you rarely need to sync the characters words to the singer.
I have a deep, entire un-ironic appreciation for both metal and the muppets. This was awesome.
