Rated ARRRRR

I skipped the local screening of The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3the original is nearly perfect, and hardly requires an update — but A.O. Scott has written a review that’s convinced me to see it. As usual, Scott is fair, clear, and perceptive; the best line, however, comes not in the review, but in his description of the film’s rating at the end:

“The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3” is rated R (Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian). It has intense violence and frequent repetition of every true New Yorker’s favorite word.

Perfect!
