Does anyone have actual numbers on whether the hit has been more severe among lawyers than among other similar industries? Obviously the legal industry is hurting compared to its usual recession-immunity, but it would be useful to know if that the damage has been outsize on some more absolute scale.

journalists don’t have licensing requirements. saw the end of the day legal professionals have to contend with a much smaller potential labor pool. good for them. for the rest of us….

I clerked at Hamilton County Courthouse for a year unpaid. Then I opened my own shop.
Also: there’s remuneration all over the countryside, but nobody wants to shop at Bi-Lo and mingle with the locals. There’s no good take-out in the small places of the world.
