Yeah. Mostly because Republicans desperately need to demonstrate that they have been secreting away their one last shred of credibility in Congress, and I suspect that Pence is in for a long life of hard work and zero results unless something transformational happens to the House, something like that thing from Cloverfield eating up large numbers of Members Democrat and Republican alike. But perhaps it would also be suicidal for Pence to accept a McCain invitation, because nothing would do more to reduce Pence’s own credibility to shreds than to fall into the arms of Mr. Congress himself. Unless they made some kind of insane budget-slashing pact, which would be dynamite.
