I have a long global warming essay up at Cato Unbound. There is a reaction essay up from Joe Romm, who has a somewhat different take on the issue than I do. Two more reaction essays are due from very prominent commentators. I will then post a response to each of the reaction essays. Hilarity will ensure.
On the global warming question, do you know what to make of this analysis by the head of engineering at Cal-Tech? http://www.theoildrum.com/node/2697#more If I read him properly, he’s saying that the IPCC’s assumptions as to drastic global warming are based on the (false) assumption that we’re going to be burn several times more oil and coal than actually exists.* So far, I’ve not been able to find anyone who has refuted his point, or even tried to do so, although I might easily have missed something.
